The chest having a hinged dome top with iron strapping, the interior of the lid having hand forged strap hinges and original hand forged iron lock and key, the interior of the trunk with a single candle till. The trunk exterior having corresponding iron strapwork and twin painted floral rosettes, one rosette with the initials "MRD" the second with the date "1784", each side of
