The OSM with SIERRA LEONE ribbon is awarded to eligible persons who served in Sierra Leone or provided direct support to operations conducted in that country from outside Canada for at least 30 cumulative days commencing on July 31
ten years of which have been served in the performance of duties involving potential risks
can the medal be awarded to an individual who does not meet all eligibility criteria
or an achievement abroad that brings benefit or honour to Canadians or Canada
Only service on approved humanitarian missions from 1 August 2009 onwards can be credited toward this new medal
