University of Indonesia (in Arabic, with Bahasa Indonesia translation) – on the methodological problems in contemporary Islamic thought: Partialistic approaches (with examples from current approaches to Islamic economics), apologetic approaches (with examples on how modernist and post-modernist approaches are forced into the reading of the Quran and Sunnah without justification), and generalistic approaches (with examples on how the maqasid theories are sometimes mis-used to justify deviation from the Shariah itself). Then, an outline of a comprehensive integrative approach based on the Quran and Sunnah, via a renewed reading.
